You guys are good. You all have talent but we all know that this type of contest isn’t really the fairest when some acts can perform in public to get the older fan base following and exposure, while others are too young to play anywhere that will get their names out…except “word of mouth” by the youngsters who can’t afford to do anything but browse MySpace. And, how can the “Best” be determined out of so many different categories? Regardless of the outcome, good luck to all! Everyone advancing to this level is a winner…
Great job guys! Hope you do well! On a side note, JMBGBB – give these guys a break! If you don’t like these guys then post elsewhere! A lot of people including myself think this young pair is the best in the competition and we haven’t seen them before this! If you’re one of the parents of the younger finalists then I’m sorry you feel the need to troll the internet in order to help your child succeed so you can live vicariously through their 15 mins… Everyone in this competition has the same edge. I can view any of the other contestants without a problem no? Besides, the “youngsters” should not win this competition. They’re looking for people who can use a boost with thier career not some kids that want a bunch of new toys. Any of the young people on here are not developed or mature enough to begin a career so why push them before they are ready?? They will just fizzle out after a short run whereas if you give people ample time to grow into their craft they will succeed in the long run. If you would like to wine I suggest complaining to your kids teachers about their grade in gym class… Don’t hate on the true talent in a talent competition!

To Victoria, I know JMBGBB, and no…she is not a parent of one of the contestants, but she is a fan who is enthusiastic about everyone getting a fair shot at this. I think her point was not to “hate on” anyone, especially the Bergamot. She indicated that they are good, and they are. I think her comment speaks more to the potentially unfair method of the audience determining the winner of the $10,000. Some older acts, such as the Bergamot, have been able to attract a local following by playing out in bars, etc. The younger artists in the competion are at a disadvantage in this respect, being too young to play Columbia Street, etc. Also, because the crowd the Bergamot would attract by playing out would be older (at least 21) they are more likely to drop $15 on a ticket to see them play for 5 minutes than younger fans of younger artists would be. And before you discount the younger artists as being unworthy of winning this competition…think about Taylor Swift, the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, etc…HUGE acts generating ENORMOUS revenue. And staying power? Britney Spears was very young when she started, as were Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, etc. How about Madonna?
All still around. The judges should be looking at marketability.
The young artists have an edge here. Don’t be so quick to assume just because someone is young, they aren’t serious about a career in music (and perfectly capable). Some of these kids have written original music and show amazing potential in the industry…they just need a chance to play some big venues and get their names out. I’d venture to say that much of the talent here is more marketable to the mainstream than a band playing folk music would be. The Bergamot is very talented, and deserve a shot as much as any other act. But others here are just as talented, and at a younger age. Hopefully the judges will look at the big picture, and not just ticket sales to this event. Good luck to everyone!
Hey…I LIKE these guys, too, or I wouldn’t be viewing them and I’m NOT a parent of anyone in the contest! Give ME a break. It’s much like American Idol and whoever gets the MOST phone votes is the “WINNER”…but not necessarily the best or most deserving.
I know for a fact that I helped “Taylor Hicks” get voted in the year “Daughtry” didn’t make it to the finals. I voted AGAINST Katherine McVey, Daughtry’s biggest talent competition, a NUMBER of times. Most KNEW Chris Daughtry was really the best singer and would make it to the finals…but he didn’t make it! But, his record sales have proven otherwise. (Where’s Kathryn & Taylor, Rubin & the a number of the other winners, too, today?)
It was a statement. Everyone has/had talent in BOTH situations. Indiana’s Got Talent/American Idol’s of the past.
The Bergamot should have won. If Katy Perry is reading this, she’s awesome.

You guys were great and I really did enjoy your very professional performance. That is what got you to the finals. You are unique and I’m certain you’ll go far…no matter what the outcome was. EVERYONE had/has talent that made it that far.
