Hi everybody, my name is Emma Huffman. I am 12 years old and am a 7th grader at Leo Jr/Sr High School. I’ve been singing since I was about 4 or 5 and I recently sang the National Anthem at a Tin Caps game. I like to write my own songs and hope to set them to music soon. My mom and dad inspire me the most because they push me to try harder. My friends are also an influence as they have a lot to do with what I write about. I listen to a variety of music and my favorite artists are Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Three Days Grace, Theory of a Dead Man and of course, Rihanna.
Hello! My name is Abby Walters and Wes Brown is playing the guitar for me! The song Wes and I performed is called “I Remember” and it is an original piece. I have been singing and writing songs forever and Wes has been playing guitar and writing since he was young. When Wes and I met this year, we combined our talents and started to write music together. This song was actually our first completed piece! This competition is something different and fun for us, but it is also one step closer to a dream…
“Pull Your Pants Up!” is a song created by Ethan ‘Six 8′ Birch that is sweeping through schools across the nation. In 2004, Ethan’s two year old son Keithan was diagnosed with Gorlin Syndrome (causes the body not to be able to fight cancer) and had three large tumors in his brain. Six months later, Ethan’s six year old son Davion was diagnosed with the same disease & almost lost his leg. Soon after, that they found a large tumor in Ethan’s abdomen which ruptured before they could remove it. On September 26, 2005 Ethan flat-lined twice in an Indianapolis hospital. They all survived. Ethan, a high school motivational speaker at the time, then started to write life lessons for his children through music so they would always have something through which they could remember him. During his recovery, he gave a small presentation to his oldest son’s second grade class. The principal of the school said EVERYONE needs to hear Six 8’s message! His album “12:34” contained the smash hit “Pull Your Pants Up!” & the rest is history. Six 8 was recently featured on the national news & is currently on tour spreading his message.
